Quick Hits: You Don’t Know Jack. . . Flaherty
First I’ll thank Chris for coming up with the “Quick Hits” and actually running with the idea. I’ve discussed doing something like this in the past because I’ve shifted my focus towards the video side, and I don’t want to take over the front page with just video posts. This will make it easier to showcase particular prospects, and post notes, quotes, radar readings etc to pair with any videos I’ve put together on the players.
The subject for my first “Quick Hits” is Harvard Westlake Infielder/Pitcher Jack Flaherty. Flaherty is a 6’3″ righthanded pitcher, but I like him more on the left side of the diamond, he’s probably a 3b down the road, and was playing there yesterday when HW played two games down at J Serra in Orange County.
Some Quick Notes:
*Great body, moves very well for height, frame to add on plenty of muscle.
*2014 Draft guy, just a Junior, already committed to UNC.
*Good range, strong arm.
*Stands out on a very good high school team.
*Nice, leveraged swing with present high school power and should develop even more pop as body fills out.
*On the hill he has a solid feel for pitching. FB upper 80′s with more velo to come.
*He has less than 100 Twitter followers, he’s too good of a prospect to have that small of a following
